Motorsport at the Palace, 2012
Bromley Pageant of Motoring, 2012 Bromley Noggin members will again be organising club stands at this year's Motorsport at the Palace (www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk) event, Crystal Palace, SE London, on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May and Bromley Pageant of Motoring (www.bromleypageant.co.uk) on Sunday 10th June. We have been in discussion the Middlebridge Registrar (www.middlebridge-scimitar.co.uk) who hopes to be able to marshal a number of Middlebridge Scimitars for each event. For Bromley Pageant we are planning for a 15 car stand as we did in 2010 and will no doubt be on the lookout for some fine examples of our cars. For some reason the models we have the most difficulty finding are SE5's and SE5a's and it would always be nice to welcome a Sabra. Note that the organisers for Bromley Pageant charge £5 for each exhibiting car including its driver and one passenger. Both events require an early start as traffic builds up very quickly prior to the event opening. If you would like to join us for either of these two event please Mail Us as soon as possible.
Motorsport at the Palace, 2011
Bromley Pageant of Motoring, 2011 Bank Holiday Monday, 30th May, saw us again at the Motorsport at the Palace event. Our display comprised Tony Poupard's Scimitar Sabre, Bob Bridges GTC, Richard Mountain's GTE, Gordon Willatt's Coupe and our Sabre Six convertible. Two weeks later, on 12th June, we were at Bromley Pageant of Motoring. Unlike the previous year we chose this time to revert to our normal 3-car display comprising Bob's GTC, Gordon's Coupe and our Sabre Six. Sadly the weather was not kind and we had to tolerate rain from about 10am until we all gave up and went home at about 3:30pm.
Motorsport at the Palace, 2010
Bromley Pageant of Motoring, 2010 RSSOC Bromley Noggin organised club stands at two local shows in 2010. The first was the Motorsport at the Palace event over the bank holiday weekend of Sunday 30th and Monday 31st May at Crystal Palace Park, South London. This event was organised by Sevenoaks and District Motor Club and was a welcome return to the calendar after a 10 year gap. As well as classic car club stands the event comprised a 2 day sprint using part of the old Crystal Palace race track. More details can be found at www.motorsportatthepalace.co.uk. We had a five car stand on each day. The second show was the evergreen Bromley Pageant of Motoring on 13th June. As this was the 75th anniversary of Reliant we thought that we would splash out and go for a 15 car stand as opposed to our normal 3 car stand. 15 happens to be about the number of sporting models that Reliant made so that is what we aimed for, one example of each Reliant sporting model from the Sabra to the Scimitar Sabre. We were able to show excellent examples of the following cars:-
Sabra convertible (all the way from Belgium) Sabre Four Sabre Six Convertible (ours) Sabre Six GT (ours) Scimitar coupe Straight Six (SE4) Scimitar Coupe V6 (SE4a) Scimitar GTE (SE5) Scimitar GTE (SE5a) Scimitar GTE (SE6a) Scimitar GTE (SE6b) GTC (SE8) Middlebridge SS1 Scimitar Sabre
